About Me

Hi! My name is Sarah and if you can’t tell already, I’m a an artist that loves leaves.

I began my printmaking journey in college and fell in love with the process almost immediately. It is a medium that has countless different iterations (woodcut, intaglio, lithography, the list goes on) and for someone who enjoys learning, it opened up a world of endless possibilities. I had found “it”…the thing I could do for hours on end, work through the night, and still want to continue working for as long as I can stay awake.

My current body of work focuses on the beauty that surrounds us. I often find myself mesmerized by the simplest things: the sunlight streaming through the clouds, a full moon, dandelion fluff floating in the breeze.

When I’m in the studio, it’s always a joy to discover what leaves I can successfully run through the press. Will they stay intact? Will they give me a good texture? Can I run them through the press again? I don’t always get good results, but then again who does?

When you look at my prints, it’s my hope that you remember to enjoy the little things - that life can be complicated and overwhelming…but it doesn’t always have to be.
